Food for Black Thought and Get Rooted Consulting LLC are Austin-based organizations that promote critical awareness of food systems through storytelling, action research, and educational programs to support more collaborative, resilient, and socially just food systems.  Their blog is a good place to begin building awareness, especially their series on "A Bone to Pick With Food Justice". 

The Sustainable Food Center (Austin) offers terrific cooking classes through their Happy Kitchen program.  Thier website has farm-to-school and food systems education and school garden packets.  They also offer ideas for field trips and much more!

Ready to dig into Farm 2 Early Care & Education? National Farm to School Network has a resource for that:  A Roadmap for Farm to Early Care and Education!  This comprehensive guide is designed to help partners from diverse sectors navigate the early care and education (ECE) landscape and better understand opportunities and leverage points for farm to ECE.  The Roadmap includes a step by step approach for getting started, and links to key ECE agencies in every state (i.e., CACFP, Head Start, licensing), making the first steps in farm to ECE relationship building as easy as a click of the mouse.
