Katie is the Farm Viability Advisor at the Texas Center for Local Food. 

In 2024, Katie started Weaving Food Webs Farm in Edinburg, Texas—a relationship-based and community-centered agroecological farm. The farm grows diversified crops, a food forest, and raises laying hens.

Katie earned an MS in Agricultural, Environmental, and Sustainability Sciences from UTRGV and has experience in leadership roles within environmental organizations and child education. These experiences have prepared her to facilitate the Texas Food Education and Discovery Network (TXFED.org) project.

Driven by impact, Katie is passionate about connecting and collaborating with communities, particularly in advancing regenerative food systems.
