The Texas Center for Local Food is launching a powerful new virtual program to help farmers like you shape the narrative and get your farm featured in the news and highlighted in your community. We’re inviting a select group of influential Texas farmers to join a Communications & Community Relations 2-Day Intensive Training, designed to help you craft compelling story pitches and build lasting relationships with journalists and community leaders.
Participants will receive: $320 value for FREE (limited offer)
- Free access to News Media Training for Farmers course on TXFED.org.
- A supportive peer cohort of farm peers to build friendships and ongoing support systems.
- 1:1 coaching from nationally recognized media experts and farmers, Erin Flynn and Harold “Skip” Connett of Green Gate Farms.
- A customized, farm-forward pitch you can bring to the media and to the community.
- The chance to lead by example & shape the future of farmer-focused media outreach in Texas.

Participants commit to:
- Completing pre-requisites by January 14th, 2026
- Deadline EXTENDED to Monday, January 19th
- Complete News Media Training for Farmers course and submit Lesson 1 & 2 assignments
- Deadline EXTENDED to Monday, January 19th
- Introducing yourself, share your participation goals, share your experience in telling your story, and ask questions to network with peers in the virtual cohort community platform
- Participating in the 2-day, 2-hour sessions on Monday & Tuesday January 26th & 27th from 5:30 - 7:30pm CT.
