The Farm-to-Kids Texas K-2 and 3-5 educational modules were designed to be used in a Central Texas after school program. Each module contains a series of lessons that serve to teach students basic concepts in biology, botany, and healthy, local eating. Each lesson takes approximately 1-2 hours to complete and is intended to be taught weekly for a 6-week course. The highly flexible format allows educators to use the materials as they’re presented or fit individual lessons into their own curriculum.
The curriculum is aligned with the Texas Education Knowledge and Skills Standards and is current as of 2017. It is also structured by the “Student will be able to” (SWBAT) educational goals format.
