National Farmers Market Week: August 4-10, 2024

This week, August 4-10, marks the twenty-fifth annual National Farmers Market Week.

Every year, the Texas Center for Local Food joins the Farmers Market Coalition in celebrating the thousands of farmers markets across the country that are changing the ways that we eat, shop, and connect.

Farmers markets don’t just happen. It takes a lot of work–often hard, often unpaid, and often unseen–to create these vital community spaces and market opportunities for farmers. This week–and every week!--we celebrate the market staff, volunteers, and board members who are doing the work to make it happen.

It is crucial to support Texas farmers markets. Check out these infographics from the Farmers Market Coalition to learn more about the essential role they play in our food systems and communities.

Make sure to celebrate Farmers Market Week by shopping at one of our partner farmers markets!
