Eastside Sprout Community Garden

Eastside Sprout Community Garden is a public, shared-harvest garden dedicated to growing food, connection, and resilience on San Antonio’s Eastside. All of our garden beds are community beds—anyone is welcome to harvest fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Tucked behind the Ella Austin Community Center, the garden offers a peaceful outdoor refuge complete with a little free lending library, picnic tables, shaded gathering areas beneath a beautiful live oak tree, and a lovingly managed cat colony.

We welcome families, children, elders, and neighbors of all backgrounds. Kids from the nearby housing community visit often, and we’re expanding programs like mindfulness classes, yoga, cooking workshops, and youth gardening activities. Whether you come to volunteer, relax, learn to grow your own food, or simply pick something fresh for your table, Eastside Sprout is a place where everyone belongs and everything is shared.
