Plant It Forward (PIF) is a non-profit farm support organization whose mission is to empower refugees to develop sustainable farms that provide fresh, healthy food to our community. Founded in 2011, we work with over 50 socially disadvantaged producers within a network of 15 farms in the Greater Houston area. We support new American producers (refugees and immigrants) through three program areas: 1) Farmer Education, 2) Urban Farming, and 3) Enterprise. We offer workshops and courses throughout the year, the apprenticeship program is only once per year. Average farm sales for participating incubator farms increased by 47%.
