Fátima was brought up in the southern Borderlands of Texas where they
were deeply influenced by their home, the Rio Grande Valley. Here,
they have helped organize various community-based initiatives and
advocate for social justice. They received their BA in Anthropology
with minors in Spanish and Philosophy from UTRGV. Their experience
with environmental and food security initiatives has helped them
understand food intersectionality and the ways in which we can
effectively collaborate with our communities.
