Katie is Local Food Coordinator at the Texas Center for Local Food, specifically for the TX ACCESS project. Katie managed small-scale, diversified vegetable farms for almost five years in Texas and California prior to attending graduate school at Texas State University. There, she facilitated farmer training and technical assistance programs with the Small Producers Initiative and received her MS in Integrated Agricultural Sciences. She looks forward to connecting Texas farmers to critical resources and programs in her role. Katie continues to work in the soil part-time at a vegetable farm in Austin.
When she’s not working, you’ll likely find Katie working with her partner on their property, reading a novel, playing with her two dogs, or enjoying the beautiful San Marcos River.
