Our Fresh Look at Your Farmers Market project achieved remarkable success from its launch in October 2021 to its end in September 2025. We’re proud to share that we’ve helped 22 farmers markets begin accepting SNAP and reached over 2.1 million SNAP-eligible shoppers through targeted marketing and outreach. Together, these efforts have driven $380,368 in total SNAP spending at our partner farmers markets. This spending goes directly to local producers and supports our Texas local economies.
As we close out this project, we are thrilled to report the successes we’ve achieved with our aMAZing farmers market partners! Here’s a look at what we accomplished:
Social Marketing
We reached an incredible 2,184,218 SNAP-eligible Texans through marketing and outreach efforts. This success stems from thoughtful collaboration with marketing experts, incorporating feedback from SNAP shoppers across Texas, impressive work by our outreach contractors, and working closely with our partner farmers markets.
SNAP Spending
$380,368 in SNAP funds were spent at our partners’ farmers markets. That includes the $61,470 in SNAP funds spent at markets that partnered with us to start accepting SNAP. That money stays in communities, supports local farmers, and puts local food on tables.
Markets Now Accepting SNAP
This project sits at the crossroads of community-building, farmer support, and food access. We helped 22 of our partners start accepting SNAP throughout this project, making local food more accessible in their communities and increasing the customer base for their local food producers!
